To dust you shall return; tacit condemnation to death, as God warned Adam initially (gen.2:17), fulfilling the promise that Adam would die after eating from the tree'[Lutheran study Bible, esv]. • Death wasn't a part of God's creation • Death came upon man as a result of His disobedience. • Yet it's not a total annihilation of man, but a privation caused by the separation of the soul from the body. DUST YOU ARE, AND TO DUST YOU SHALL RETURN Disobedience was, and is still in man. Disobedience sometimes comes as a result of doubt. The devil injected doubt into Man's heart when he deceitfully convinced him to eat from the tree of which he was warned not to eat from.
